Summer 2014 was a busy one for #TeamHustle. Starting in May with Bobby’s California Tour, he played nine shows up and down the coast from Humboldt to San Diego. The most notable appearances on the tour were in Los Angeles at the famous Dub Club and then at the California Roots Festival in Monterey where he performed alongside east coast band the Movement for 5,000 people.
Just weeks later Bobby took off for a five show east coast tour. Playing alongside and traveling with Canadian-based, JUNO award winning singer Exco Levi was a big thrill for Bobby as Exco’s music has been an inspiration to him for a couple years. They played Boston, Providence and Martha’s Vineyard together but the highlight according to Bobby was bringing Exco out as a surprise guest for his show in Newport, RI. Since 2012 the Hustle has received great support from DJ Nuggiez and the staff at WUMD 89.3FM in Massachusetts so his fan base has been steadily growing. “Being given the opportunity to share the stage with Exco Levi in front of these great fans was a privilege and honor,” he said.
The following week Bobby flew back across country to perform at the 30th Annual Reggae On The River Festival in Humboldt, CA. He took the stage on Thursday July 31st at 8pm and by all accounts absolutely leveled the place. Despite having badly injured his foot just days earlier, the Hustle managed to entertain throughout his set while Blessed Coast DJ’s Triple Crown and Ryan I handled sound man duties.
This month, August 2014, has seen Bobby performing at a host of events with DJ Triple Crown as well as his debut performance with his band Loud City. On August 14th, Bobby and his band opened for the legendary Third World in Bellingham, WA. Not only did the crowd send amazing feedback, but Third World members themselves expressed their support for Bobby’s new project, astonished by Loud City’s “first” show together.
On August 22nd Bobby will take the stage at the Northwest Harvest Fest in Bow, WA alongside DJ Triple Crown. Festival goers can expect a mostly ganja related set as this event is meant to raise positive awareness about Washington State’s marijuana culture. The following day, August 23rd, Bobby will feature on the main stage at the first annual Seattle International Reggae Festival at Kings Hall in Seattle, WA.
On August 28th, Dynasty Records, Wicked Vybz and Upsetta Films join together to release Bobby’s brand new video for the song “I Know”. Filmed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island over the coarse of one day, “I Know” is a glimpse into Bobby’s introspective conversation and his own personal affirmations.
Lastly on August 30th, Bobby flys back to California, where he will feature at a university show in Chico, CA ~ Details TBA
