“I’ve been very busy since I last checked in with everybody. Which is a good thing, right? Just been steadily promoting the debut album and making some great links and connections for the future!
We left off when I was in Berlin, getting ready to play in Warsaw for the first time. Well, let me tell you Poland LOVES reggae music! I played a dancehall party outside on the beach in Warsaw alongside Bo from Mystic Roots Sound. Pure good vibes! The fans were dancing and singing along the whole set! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see much of the city because we had to leave the next day in the afternoon, but I can say that the Polish massive was nothing but positive and full of love. You have to visit!!!
So I went back to Berlin for the week. While there I cut some brand new songs with the dj/producer R2D2 from Dirty Ragga Squad. He’s all about sample based riddims. Look out for his serious mash-up style! Ting shot!
I left for Summerjam in Cologne, Germany early on the morning of July 3rd. However, I managed to catch a performance from Tarrus Riley and The Black Soil Band the night before. I cant give enough praise and respect to Tarrus and the band. They are incredible. Pure showmanship and entertainment at its best! And definitely some inspirational fuel for the fire…
Summerjam was so much fun! Despite the extreme heat, reggae fans really showed up in great numbers. It was truly massive. I got a chance to perform a couple songs with Jah Sun and the House of Riddim Band on the main stage on Saturday, July 4th. All my US fam can relate when I say it was quite a different way to spend the “Independence Day”. And considering it was my first time at a European festival, I consider the experience a huge success!!
The next day I flew into Bologna, Italy where I linked Leo and the crew from Bizzarri Records. If you are familiar with Bizzarri already, you must have ratings for what they do. If not, just google them and hear some wicked production on riddim runs, albums, singles and more. They’ve been doing things in Italy for about 7 years and have a sound that is very globally appealing.
In fact, I’m writing this from Bizzarri Studios in Modena, Italy now. I’ve made this my base for the next two weeks, except for a brief trip to Germany again for Reggaejam Festival. So far since I’ve been here I’ve played two soundsystem shows (one in Modena and one in Milan) as well as an acoustic set with Silvio, the wicked guitarist in Bizzarri’s stable. I’ve also manage to record three new tracks in between promoting the release of “Its The Hustle” so always be on the lookout for new works!!!
Next up for me is Reggaejam Fest on July 24th in Germany, then One Love Fest in Venice, Italy on July 25th. More Europe shows adding in August and US album release parties will be announced shortly too!
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to follow the movements. Much love and respect” #TeamHustle
